Jose dos Santos kicked us off with a mini-presentation: he walked us through themes he has seen emerge in corporate design teams when it comes to defining and communicating the value of design.
He touched on the tension of a company’s revenue model with the (broad strokes) design methodologies and how value is articulated in them. The challenge is to connect the dots between the two.
We dove into a facilitated set of activities. We gathered what ways design value can be recognized / defined (via metrics, qualitative observation, and what ultimately makes it to the “leadership scoreboard).
Then we collected what in the participants’ experience has worked, what hasn’t, and what we are excited to try next.
