DatB Europe Team Gathering 2022 in Munich

After conducting regular virtual meetings over the past two years, the European core team of Design at Business finally came together in person for a 2-day gathering in Munich.

The objective was to exchange on latest topics, review our setup, and to discuss on the future community arrangements. But most of all we were happy to see and talk to each other in person beyond our 16:9 screens. Therefore, we also made sure to have enough time to talk about expectations within the team, to personally reconnect, as well as to welcome our youngest participant into our group.

It felt good to kick-off our session in a familiar mode with lots of post-it notes.

We really missed our

Post-it notes!

While addressing a lot of open topics that occurred during the past months and years, we realized that setting up an official and legal entity with our own association is not as trivial as it sounds, and it took a lot of energy and effort.

Thanks a lot for all the arrangements to Joern, Maarten and Christine (and all the others not named here)!

With this official entity, we needed to critically reflect, discuss and sharpen our vision with the intention to grasp all the future opportunities lying ahead of us.

Wind in our sails - What helped us move forward ...
Wind in our sails - What helped us move forward ...

During one of the exercises, our task was to identify the “Wind in our sails”.

Literally, we were confronted with 3 key question in our workshop:

  • what helped us to move forward?
  • what has been successful so far?
  • what has excited us ?

As a result, we associated the boat as our official DatB legal body that is ready to sail into the future. However, the community and its endless possibilities is why we are all here.

In fact, one of the highlights of this gathering was to realize that we are here for the FUN and that we share a common interest and purpose to promote innovation and creativity with our community. We are strongly bonded by this mindset that goes beyond short-term transactions and shallow relationships. So, we are preparing ourselves with all our positive spirits and extraordinary capabilities to kick-off the “fishing” part …

The unified DatB Europe team feels very empowered to take up the next steps to gather the European community, collaborate and co-create on the next initiatives.

Stay curious!
