Cataloging insights for reuse

We created a space to share what has worked and what folks are continuing to prototype when it comes to sharing, collating, and curating past and future research.

Our Skill-up session surveyed the ways that participants had managed their research. We discussed the pros and cons of different tools to collect and store data related to projects. And we went down a much-needed rabbit hole that is oftentimes hard to find time to ponder in our day to day lives: the challenges of wanting research to be just-in-time, specifically-relevant (vs too broad such that it is applicable to many situations but not necessarily directive / insightful), and ethical (we touched on the question of when do research take-aways become stale, and how do you disseminate updates). Participants shared both tactical resources as well as readings about approaches to organizing research topics.
